Jerez de la Frontera Festival of the Grape Harvest
Jerez de la Frontera, the world-renowned town, holds an annual grape harvest where the new grape juice is celebrated as the renewal of the economic, cultural and social life of the town. Date from 11-09-2012 To 16-09-2012.
The festival begins with the pisá, where the grapes are squashed with the feet. This year it is dedicated to sherry, which is blessed in the cathedral, and then there is a wide range of activities, including flamenco, horses, bullfighting and gastronomy of the area, especially the famous sherry.
A music/firework display is the grand finale of a week packed with art, culture and tradition.
