Lanzarote: Carnaval in Puerto del Carmen
Each year the weekend following Ash Wednesday, Carnival begins in Puerto del Carmen. Floats, street musicians and bands are shifted to the Avenida de las Playas, Puerto del Carmen, with all its colorful and striking. The Carnival of Puerto del Carmen takes light, space and volume. Start Date: 23/02/2012.

Thursday, 23
18.00 h.: Children’s Carnaval at the Plaza del Varadero (Harbour)
20.00 h.: Perfomance of the Murgas (Carnaval songs) Tabletuos, Simplones and Desahuciados in Plaza del Varadero (Harbour).
Friday, 24
20.30 h.: Carnaval Show by carnaval groups such as: Charanga “Los Gruñones” (Music) Batucada “Chimbay” (music with drums), “Guaracheros Show” (dance) and Comparsa “Sur Caliente” (carnival dances), in Plaza El Varadero (Harbour). Finally, Open Air by “Lanzarote Swing” and Carlos Chavaud Dj.
Saturday, 25
17.00 h.: Carnival Parade on Avenida de las Playas from Barcarola to Fariones Playa.
From 21.00 h. until the morning of next day, Open Air by orchestras: “Travesía, Rika Banda” and “Lanzarote Swing” in Plaza El Varadero.
Sunday, 26
12.00 h. Carnival in the morning with performances by: Pepe Benavente (singer), Rafael Flores “El Morocho” (singer), Batucadas (drum music), Comparsas (carnival dances) and Drag Queen, in Plaza el Varadero.
