The Mesana restaurant, in the five-star Gran Guadalpín Hotel, boasts an exquisite, elegant décor, lavishing attention on details like cutlery, glassware, crockery… The service couldn’t be better with Raúl González as a maître d’hotel who was third finalist in the “Nariz de Oro” awards in 2006.
Mesana is run by Ramón Freixa, a great chef whose family owns the renowned El Racó d’en Freixa, a restaurant in Barcelona which has had a Michelin star for almost twenty years. Ramón learnt all the secrets of the most innovative European cuisine while working in such prestigious restaurants as La Tuffe Noire and Comme Chez Soi, in Belgium, or the Michel Bras, in France. He is a young cook with a wide, valuable experience that earned him the following awards: Best Chef of Spain 2001, by Gourmetour; Best Chef 2003, by Málaga Cuisine Academy and a Michelin star, held by the Mesana restaurant, in 2006.
Freixa has introduced an interesting menu, with traditional dishes made with the latest cooking techniques. There are three different sample menus, including appetisers, fish, meat, cheese and dessert that will give us the chance to taste Freixa’s fantastic creations. Tasty and delicious food you’ll certainly love.
There are more than 500 wines in the restaurant’s cellar. Undoubtedly, sommelier Sergio Vergara will tell us the perfect marriage of food and wine.
