The Fourth Sunday Festivity or the el Pa i el Peix is a festivity that finds its origin in the 17th century. It is celebrated on the fourth Sunday of Lent. It consists of an on-foot procession to the church that is dedicated to the Mare de Déu de la Consolació (Our Mother of Consolation), situated on the Consolació Hill. Apart from the origins of the hamlet of Sant Joan, surrounding this church we also find the village’s original oratory, which existed before the urban centre was constructed, back in the 15th century. The legend tells that adoration of the Mare de Déu de la Consolació at this church was originated by a Muslim shepherd who encountered an image of the Virgin.
